Since winning a state-wide stock picking contest at age 10, I’ve been obsessed with investing. I opened my first brokerage account the day I turned 18 – just in time to enjoy the mayhem in the Financial Crisis.
I also love writing, I was the opinion editor for the Rocky Mountain Collegian 2009-10 and graduated with a degree in economics from Colorado State in 2010. After graduating, I worked for Kerrisdale Capital, a New York-based long-short hedge fund for three years as an analyst.
In 2014, I traveled South America for a year and learned Spanish. I met my wife while traveling in Colombia and we’ve since settled down there and had our first daughter in 2018.
Since leaving Kerrisdale Capital, I’ve taken to managing my money full-time, in addition to writing about investments and starting other businesses. You can find my writing on Seeking Alpha, Investorplace, and CCN, among other websites.
I’ve published more than 750 articles at Seeking Alpha, in addition to running Ian’s Insider Corner at Seeking Alpha – my research service featuring a 10-15 page weekly newsletter, the first look at all my new initiation reports and trade ideas, live member chat, and my responses to all your questions.
If you wish to contact me regarding my articles, having me appear on your podcast, speaking opportunities, press quotes, or anything else, you can reach me through Seeking Alpha, or find me on Twitter at @irbezek.
